Wedding We Love: Brosiahs

Every once in awhile, you stumble across a wedding that oozes so much cool that your cup runneth over and that shit gets your desk all sticky.

THIS is that wedding.

Meet Brosiahs: Brittany and Josiahs Porter.

Part glam, part mod, part classic-cars-and-nike-hi-tops, this wedding was almost entirely DIY-ed by the bride, groom and family members.

 Pound it.

The event was held at the Smog Shoppe in Culver City, a hip urban event space created from an old auto shop. Jealous of that geometric backdrop? Yeah, so are we. Turns out the bride's sister-in-law MADE it. She also created the living walls that hung inside the venue.

 Dying. Dead.

And natch, since the place used to be a haven for cars, these super dope sequined classic car patches were used to designate tables.

Each guest was treated to two unique DIY-ed gifts: a personalized coaster, and a candle. From the bride:

I’m super proud of the personal touches that went into the wedding. We kept adding more things, but we wanted all of our guests to feel special and important.

My husband decided to handcraft and hand pour candles as wedding favors for each guest. We created two scents, one designed by him and one designed by me.

THEN, we saw these cool ceramic tile coasters on Etsy and thought… we could make those… And thus begun my never-ending task of making personal ceramic tile coasters for each attendee. Because our venue was so midcentury and “kitschy”, we decided to use retro photography and advertisements that were specific to each individual with their names on them. For example, my grandma loves coca cola, so she got a vintage coca cola ad with her name on it. The coasters acted as seating cards.

Open your own Etsy shop, you two. The world wants it.

Coasters personalized and decoupaged for each guest by the bride and groom.

Candles hand-crafted by the groom in two unique scents: Urban Cowboy for the bride, and Grapefruit Bergamot for the groom.

Best part? The bridesmaid gifts. Brittany gave her gals Nike ID sneaker wedges, personalized with their nicknames and their role in the wedding.

 Dig those kicks.

And because this wedding was every badass bride's fairy tale, here's a shot of Prince Charming fitting the Nike Wedge slipper on his princess.

And as every fairy tale goes, there was an epic dance-all-night ball...
