Budgets are a Bitch: Use Beer Hops!

Nick and Sara are literally the cutest little Portlandians we've ever met. They never stop SMILING. Ugh. And their dog Koda is SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE.

 Mom, you're squishing my face.

Mom, you're squishing my face.

And they served TEENY TINY TABASCO BOTTLES WITH THEIR WEDDING TACOS.

But those aren't the only reasons we love Nick and Sara. Their industrial-chic wedding at Portland's Union Pine was juuuuuust minimalist enough so that their lurve was the most striking display. But what REALLY caught our eye was the floral decor by Blooming Bouquets. Turns out it was BEAUTIFUL BEER HOPS!

Beer hops are gorgeous, full, and thrifty AF. Did you know that almost 98% of the hops grown in the US are from the Pacific Northwest? Being Oregonians, Nick and Sara totally scored with this local flora. Brew-loving brides can get fresh hops in season during the fall months, and dried hops year round.  We love the lush greenery against the industrial backdrop of Union Pine.

This creative couple even used hops as runners, saving them a bundle on table decor! The hops runners rang up at right around $15 per table.

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof... because we're HOPPY!

What's even cooler, is a local brewer took the hops after the wedding and recycled them BY MAKING A UNIQUE CRAFT BREW just for Nick and Sara! You literally cannot get greener than this. YOU CAN'T.

In fact, we were so enamored with the idea of using hops as floral decor, we started scouring the internet for more! That rhymes. Self high-five. Peep these incredible beer hop boutonnieres from Black Creek Hops. Obsessed.

We're totally drunk on this wedding. Thanks for sharing, Nick and Sara! Let's grab a beer sometime, yeah?
